What is the difference between the two main types of Semi Permanent make up?
Well Microblading is the art of creating hyper-realistic eyebrows using individual hair strokes. The hair stroke outline is applied to the skin using the special Microblading tool which lightly scratches into the surface. Once the eyebrow has been shaped, a layer of pigment is appliend on top to fill in the outlined shape. This hair stroke then heals over, and isn't removable with water or make up remover. The hair stroke is visible for up to 18 months before needing the treatment again.
Power brows or 'Ombre Powder brows' are created using a machine. This technique creates soft full eyebrows, similar to the look of eyebrows which have been filed in with eyebrow powder. Two to three pigments can be blended into the brow creating a gradual or 'ombre' finish.
The semi permanent make up machine both scratches the skin and colours at the same time.
Lots of people find they prefer a mix of the two styles and often have some Microblading strokes at the front and a more full eyebrow tail with the powder brow. It is also possible to start with Microblading and then move to Powder brows.
