The first thing Beauty Ink tells its clients is, the depth of colour of your eyebrows will be considerably darker than you may expect, but don’t panic as this is completely normal. Over the following four to ten days it will begin to fade and may take up to four to six weeks for the true colour to come through. Also don’t be alarmed if the colour seems to disappear during the healing process, this is due to layers of skin forming and is only temporary. The treated area may experience the following symptoms for two to seven days after the treatment, which is completely normal: • Flaking • Tenderness • Dryness and itching • Swelling • Redness Don’t be tempted to remove any scabs by force that may form on the treated area as this may remove the pigment along with the crust. Things you should avoid for 1-2 weeks: • Soaps, facial cleansers, water on pigmented areas • Washing pigmented area • Chlorine pools • Retin-A on pigmented areas • Makeup on pigmented area for 5 days, including non-allergenic • Hot, steamy, long showers • Sun on pigmented areas • Jacuzzis or saunas • Terry towels on pigmented areas Ideally you should avoid water for at least one week, but that isn’t always possible. So, shower with your back to the water to avoid water, shampoo and conditioner from getting into the pigmented areas. Make sure you wash your hair with your head tilted backwards to stop water running down you face. If you are thinking of having Microblading done, why not get some more information on it.

She has worked in New York, Australia, Lithuania, Ireland and given courses in Ireland, Norway, Canada and soon Australia. With so many years working in the Semi Permanent Make Up Industry her number question from clients is: DOES MICROBLADING HURT!? Here we let our clients explain what to expect from the treatment. 1)"Overall it's not a painful experience and the results are worth it! If you are someone who wants fuller brows, or if you've even over-tweezed, or if your brows just don't grow in certain spots, you should consider microblading. You won't have to fill them in for at least one year! The results are amazing!" - Sharon Healy, Tralee 2)"All in all, it's more uncomfortable than painful, although this will of course depend on your pain threshold. I find a full bikini wax is actually painful where as Microblading is no where near that level of pain. Just remember not to get freaked out by the noise!" Laura McCarthy, Clonmel 3)"It's a strange feeling. Not sore but I was aware of it all the same. It's like a kind of light scratchy feeling. I didnt think it was painful. My eyes didn't water, but I wouldn't say it was relaxing either. I loved my results though and would recommend it. I've had it done 3 times now." Orlaith Ford, Cork 4)"I found it sore but the day I had it done was the 1st day of my period and I'm always very sensitive around then. I should have rebooked my appointment but I was waiting to see Sinead for so long that I didn't want to reschedule. When I had my top up I didn't find it painful, but I was more relaxed and knew what to expect, which I think helped too." Jenny Flynn, Dublin 5)"I'm terrible with needles. I think this made me very scared and tense. When I saw the equipment used though, it was not what I thought it would be. Much nicer and not like needles at all!! I felt a few scratches but not all of them. I relaxed after a few minutes and Sinead made me feel very calm. She's so funny and nice. I brought my sister the month after to have it done too." Professional painters know that they get the best results when they spend extra time sanding, filling holes, making sure edges are smooth and applying the right primer. Well microblading is very similar. You will get much better results when you properly prep. It all starts with a good canvas! The eyebrow area must be healthy, strong, non-sensitive and non-irritated. Here’s how to get your skin ready for the procedure. What not to do before having Microblading done...
